The genetic system has moved to a number system, allowing for much more flexibility, and you never have to 'start at 0' with things. You can keep multiple 'bases' to speed up breeding, but usually you can get what you need in two or three generations...IF you like math puzzles. The math is not super complex, you have a preview before any point of pelo return with hatching eggs, and there is a predictor that helps you with multiple generations of planning (to make sure it works like it does in your head!

- Dauber can no longer be used with plain mud to clear your colors - you will have to use a new magic mud if you want to change your changed colors.

Mudborne is a casual nature management sim about discovering & breeding frogs! Awoken from hibernation you find your pond abandoned. Through the genetic keys of new species you must unlock the paths between the waking & dreaming worlds, and embark on a journey to restore lost populations.

I still need to gather a bunch of mushrooms and plan things out to get the perfect set of numbers--and sometimes need to plan out several generations in a row!--so the effort still feels rewarded. It is more of an 'active' breeding system than past games. Less waiting, less RNG, more gameplay.

First I gotta say I love this game! Also I have probably not yet explored absolutely everything since it's a bit confusing still to me with the waking wolrd+dream world, but to the problem. I was excited and was roaming the area with the elevators and didn't read the quest book (oops) and didn't take the second bucket to the north.

You awaken from your hibernation to find your pond abandoned and empty. Through a combination of crafting minigames, menu management and puzzle solving, experiment with genetics to breed new frogs and recover what was lost.

Most of this info is already in game, by discovering it. I just wanted to make a quick little guide i can open on another screen to look at instead of taking notes and going back and forth. If it helps you, it helps. If it doesn't, that's okay. I have neve...

Mudborne is being created by ellraiser, one half of the indie-dev studio, TNgineers. A spiritual successor of sorts to APICO, Mudborne instead focuses on genetic manipulation and generational puzzles to create and discover all sorts of frog species, with experimentation being encouraged.

This review is for people on the fence while it is still Mudborne Gameplay on sale. I will write more later. I only have 7.4 hours in, and it feels like I have scratched the surface. An excellent game.

using the empyrean variant instead of the normal variant makes Pondmother cutscene stuck on only you going up instead of also the hat guy, even though the pondmother accepts the sleeping variant

(if you're trying to use them to open Northern Pool you should instead look at INVERSE N along with the earlier mushrooms)
